Selection of Principal Business Activities: Sales Tax Applicability

While selecting the principal business activities, it is important to check whether the services or business activities you are performing are subject to sales tax or not.

If sales tax is applicable to your activity, then you will have to register for sales tax later.

Therefore, it is better to select that activity in the sales tax option from the beginning. Its shortcut in the form is “ST”, which has to be selected.

Similarly, if Federal Excise Duty (FED) is applicable to your activity, then that should also be selected at the same time.

Sales Tax Option (ST)

It is important to select this option to get a sales tax registration, because unless you select the option ‘’ST’’, you cannot file application for sales tax registration.

If you submit the form without this option and later apply for sales tax registration again, you will have to fill the entire form again.

Therefore, it is better that if your business is subject to sales tax, then select the correct option at the beginning so that you do not waste time and effort later and do not have to fill the form again.
